- Always practice basic hygiene. Topical treatments have lots of bells and whistles that are there to help, but they also have ingredients like benzoyl peroxide, resorcinol, salicylic acid, and sulphur, which commonly do more to dry out your skin rather than clean it. To make sure they don’t do more harm than good, wash your skin gently with a mild cleanser and be sure to keep your hair clean.
- Leave your back acne alone! Much like a bully, if you just ignore it, bacne will bother you less. Avoid touching it and do your best to keep it from prolonged exposure to the sun.
- Don’t sit in your sweat. As satisfying as it can be to plop on the couch and turn on the TV after a tough work-out, dermatologists recommend showering as soon as possible to get rid of excess sweat and oils. Then try to stay cool to avoid those pesky post-shower sweats! Then, of course, turn on the TV because there’s always something waiting to be binge watched on Netflix.
